Have a knack for making people feel welcome, turning big ideas into engaging conversations and thinking on your feet? Dubai’s Museum of the Future is looking for people with these qualities for an unusual new job opportunity.
The museum has opened applications for “Future Perfects”, a new full-time role designed to transform how visitors experience the landmark attraction as it prepares for a planned reopening in 2027.
Rather than focusing on conventional qualifications or years of experience, the recruitment drive aims to discover people whose curiosity, imagination, emotional intelligence and communication skills can bring the museum’s ideas to life.
A Future Perfect will be part guide, part storyteller and part problem-solver, helping visitors from different cultures, backgrounds and age groups connect with ideas about science, technology, nature, society and the future.
Applicants do not need previous experience in museums or customer service. Instead, the museum wants to see how candidates interact with others, respond to unexpected situations and turn complex ideas into conversations that feel personal and accessible.
The selection process will begin with online applications, followed by live assessments for shortlisted candidates and a final casting day featuring auditions before an expert judging panel. Candidates will be assessed on their ability to communicate, adapt and connect with people.
Successful applicants will join the museum’s Visitor Experience team full-time from November 2026, helping shape the experience of visitors from around the world.
Azza AlNuaimi, chief operating officer of Museum of the Future, said the initiative reflects Dubai’s approach to recognising potential before it becomes obvious. “Dubai has built its global position by recognising possibilities before they become obvious and creating the conditions for people, ideas and ambition to turn them into reality,” she said.
“The Museum of the Future reflects this same mindset. It does not simply ask what the future will look like, but who will shape it, how people will experience it and how each person can see their own place within it.”
AlNuaimi said that while technology continues to expand what is possible, human qualities remain essential to helping people understand and explore new ideas. “These qualities cannot be measured by a degree, a job title or years of experience,” she said.
“The ‘Future Perfects’ reflect Dubai’s belief in recognising potential beyond conventional paths. We are looking for people who may never have imagined working in a museum yet possess exactly what a museum of the future needs.”
How to apply
Applications are open until November 8, through the official recruitment portal at futureperfects.museumofthefuture.ae.
The museum is also inviting the public to nominate people they believe would make exceptional Future Perfects through its official social media channels. PIA/ICA/Expat Media
