Dubai Metro changes timings on February 12 for Dubai Marathon

The Dubai Metro will have an early start on Sunday (February 12) for the Dubai Marathon, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The RTA said Dubai Metro service will start at 4am instead of 8am to accomodate marathon runners and supporters. The Dubai Marathon will be held from 6am until 1pm.

The marathon will be held at Expo City Dubai where elite runners from around the world will be competing. It returns after a two-year break due to the pandemic.

Elite athletes due to take part in the Dubai Marathon include Ethiopian running star and former champion Tsegaye Mekonnen Asefa, as well as Ruti Aga, Gutemi Shone and Gelete Burka.

The Dubai Marathon features three runs: the full 42.195km marathon open to runners over the age of 18; the 10km road race open to runners over the age of 15; and the 4km fun run for all age groups. ICA/Expat Media
