Dubai launches new scheme for remote workers

 

DUBAI – Dubai has launched a new scheme to allow remote working professionals from anywhere in the world to relocate to the emirate on an annual basis.

The unique program also allows remote workers’ families to live in the emirate. The programme costs $287.

The new work programme will allow remote workers to work for their employer anywhere in the world while being based in Dubai.

To be eligible for the programme, applicants need to have proof of employment with a one-year contract validity and a minimum salary of $5,000 per month.

They must also submit a pay slip and three preceding months’ bank statements, a passport that is valid for a minimum of six months and health insurance with UAE coverage.

Business owners may also apply for the programme, and must show proof of the ownership of company for one year or more, with an average monthly income of $5,000 per month, and three preceeding months’ bank statements.

The programme will allow remote workers to get all services in Dubai, including utilities, telecom and schooling. They will also benefit from Dubai’s zero income tax for individuals.

Dubai remote work scheme requirements for eligibility

– Proof of employment from current employer with a one-year contract validity

– Last month’s pay slip and 3 preceeding months’ bank statements

– $5,000 monthly salary

– Passport with minimum 6-month validity

– Health insurance with UAE coverage

– If business owner: proof of ownership for one year or more, with an average monthly income of $5,000

– If business owner: 3 preceeding months’ bank statements
