An Asian expatriate is now in jail after stealing a motorbike in Bur Dubai.
A Dubai court sentenced him to one month in jail and fined him Dh3,000 for stealing the motorbike that was parked next to a building in the Al Hudaiba area of Bur Dubai.
The owner of the motorbike reported his motorbike stolen last week after he noticed it missing. He had left it parked for several days next to a building in the area.
Police were able to track down the thief who was caught driving the motorbike in the Al Barsha area. During interrogation, he told police that he spotted the motorbike that was covered with dust for several days, and had decided to steal it.
He said that he asked a locksmith to help him create an ignition key for the motorcycle, saying that he claimed he was the owner and that he lost the key. ICA/Expat Media
