Dubai: Robots to complete travel procedures at airport

Dubai has introduced a robotic check-in system designated to complete travel procedures and other tasks at Dubai International Airport. A world’s first of its kind, the Emirate will launch these robots within a few months.

According to an Emirates spokesperson, more than 200 robots are expected to be deployed in phases.

The locally developed robot is called “Sarah.” It will be programmed to speak at least six languages, including Arabic, to help in everything from check-in to hotel bookings.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the “FORSA TEK” showcase on Thursday (March 9).

Organized by the Emirates Group, the market introduced the latest prominent innovations in technology and sustainability in the aviation and tourism industries.

“FORSA TEK” is an interactive market where Emirates Group and its partners showcase a variety of innovations. This includes robotics, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and other technologies.

Dubai airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. The new technology will help strengthen its position as the flagship of its industry. RZSP/Expat Media
