Dubai has recently launched a Gaming Visa to attract talents and creators in the e-gaming industry, while providing a platform to develop and enhance their skills.

The Dubai Gaming Visa is a long-term cultural visa that offers a Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate to qualified applicants. The new initiative is part of Dubai’s Program for Gaming 2033 that aims to create 30,000 jobs.

The service begins with granting the Creative and Talented Accreditation certificate that will be the basis for issuing a long-term gaming visa to attract talented professionals in the video game industry.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, said: “Through the launch of Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, our objective is to establish an incubating environment for developers and to draw leading technology companies from across the globe.”

“Particularly those specialising in digital content and experiences. The programme will offer support to developers, designers, programmers, as well as entrepreneurs and startups in the creative industries,” Sheikh Hamdan said. Here’s all you need to know.

How do I apply?

First, you need to get the Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate. To get this, you must submit your application through dubaigaming.gov.ae. You will then receive an email notification on the status of your application. A certificate will be issued if you meet all requirements.

What are the requirements needed?

You must be a video game or e-game enthusiast or creator who is at least 25 years old. You must submit a copy of your passport, as well as your Emirates ID (if available) and your professional CV.

Will I get the Dubai Gaming Visa once I receive the certificate?

Obtaining an approval or a permit from Dubai Culture does not comprise a final approval; it is a conditional approval as part of the required procedures to obtain other approvals from local and/or federal authorities concerned with issuing the Dubai Gaming Visa.

What happens when my application is rejected?

You may reapply. Make sure that your application is submitted personally. Dubai Culture will not receive any application submitted by companies or service centres, as the submission is by the applicant personally. The Dubai Culture also reserves the right to reject any application without clarifying reasons.

Where can I get more information about the Dubai Gaming Visa?

You can check dubaigaming.gov.ae for more details.
