Dubai: Dampa Seafood Grill reopens after fire

Dampa Seafood Grill in Dubai has reopened after nearly six months of shutdown following a massive fire that gutted its restaurant in Deira.

The popular Filipino seafood restaurant in Centurion Star Tower is now reportedly on its soft opening phase, with a few items on its menu while the kitchen has yet to be fully operational.

The restaurant has not released any public announcement of its reopening, but reports confirmed that it reopened its doors last Friday (February 2). A grand opening is reportedly scheduled in the next few days.

On TikTok, several diners have shared videos of the revamped venue, with one saying it was “same ambience, same vibe as always”.

Filipino-owned Dampa Seafood Grill is popular for its Cajun-style crabs and shrimps, which are served in Philippine-style “boodle fight” dining, where food is layered on the table and shared by everyone as they eat with their hands.

In 2022, the restaurant bagged the Favourite Local Gem award at the Expo Eats Awards. ICA/Expat Media
