The fourth edition of the Dakilang Manggagawang Pilipino (Greatest Filipino Workers in UAE) launched recently to recognize unsung Filipino heroes in the UAE.

Nominations will open on July 1 and run until August 10, a representative of organizer Pinas Cargo told Expat Media. Details about the nomination process will be posted on the Pinas Cargo Facebook.

“It started with an idea at one of our meetings. Most award giving bodies were recognizing those that are already prominent. I thought, why don’t we also award the ordinary people doing extraordinary work?” said Marlyn Castro, CEO of Pinas Cargo, explaining why the award was conceptualized.

Dakilang Manggagawang Pilipino is anchored on four criteria: best family person, best employee, best community worker and best spiritual worker.

All nominees will undergo a selection process where only the top 20 candidates will be chosen on August 11. They will then undergo a thorough evaluation on August 18. The finalists will then be presented and public online voting will be opened from August 19 to September 15 to determine the winners.

“Dakilang Manggagawang Pilipino continues to inspire and uplift the Filipino community by celebrating the hard work and dedication of ordinary OFWs, proving that true heroism lies in everyday acts of service and devotion,” according to Pinas Cargo. ICA/Expat Media
