DUBAI – A Pakistani man who attempted to smuggle four kilograms of illegal drugs was arrested in a sting operation in Dubai’s International City.
The Pakistani, 30, denied charges of drug smuggling when he appeared for trial at the Dubai Criminal Court.
According to Dubai Police, they were tipped off last February about the man’s criminal activities and intercepted a call between the Pakistani and a drug supplier in Pakistan.
The man had planned to smuggle methamphetamine from Oman to Saudi Arabia via Dubai.
Police said they recovered from his possession 3kgs of drugs, and another 1kg in Saudi Arabia.
The trial continues on January 30. ICA/Expat Media
