Covid-19 victims buried in Sharjah? Sheikh refutes rumours

 

SHARJAH – The Sharjah government has refuted a viral video that claimed Covid-19 victims are being buried in the emirate, with the Sharjah Ruler stepping in to issue a new directive.

Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, ruled that no victim of the new coronavirus or Covid-19 will be buried in Sharjah’s Al Saja’a area.

Sheikh Sultan also ordered the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah to confirm that none of the victims had been buried in the mentioned area or other areas in Sharjah.

Meanwhile, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau warned the public against spreading rumours, adding that legal action will be taken against violators. ICA/Expat Media
