DUBAI – The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has clarified that not all passengers heading to Dubai are required to provide a Covid-19 negative test report before boarding their flight.
The authority’s recent announcement came after what it said were “false information being circulated on some media and news websites concerning the required procedures for travel to Dubai”.

According to a list of guidelines posted by Emirates airline, passengers who are required to present a negative Covid-19 test report ahead of their flight are those coming from the following countries or if they travelled from the countries listed below and have a connecting flight to Dubai:
US – Dallas Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, including passengers from California, Florida and Texas on a connecting flight to Dubai.
According to Emirates, all other passengers may take a Covid-19 test 96 hours before their flight and bring their test result when they travel. They may also have the test done on arrival in Dubai.
Yes. You need full entry visa requirement to visit the UAE.
You must download the Covid-19 DXB app to register your details to health authorities.
Yes. You need to have a valid international health insurance in order to enter the UAE.
Yes, if you are coming from the countries listed above. All other tourists may undergo a PCR test for Covid-19 with a maximum validity of four days or 96 hours prior to their date of departure.
What if I can not provide Covid-19 test results?
You will undergo a PCR test on arrival at the Dubai airport.
Yes. You need to fill the Health Declaration Form before embarking on your flight.
Yes. You must wear a facemask at the airport. You must also follow physical distancing guidelines.
You will not be allowed to board your flight if you display any Covid-19 symptoms.
You will be subjected to thermal screening.
If you develop Covid-19 symptoms, Dubai Airports medical personnel will test you to ensure you are free of coronavirus.
