Cleaning assistant wins Dh100,000 in Emirates Labour Market Award

A cleaning assistant for a medical centre in the UAE has won Dh100,000 in the first Emirates Labour Market Award by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Pameela Krishnan, who works at the Canadian Medical Center, was awarded for her “inspiring success story” in the UAE. She received her token cheque at a special awards ceremony.

Krishnan topped the workforce category in the Emirates Labour Market Award, the first UAE award of its kind to recognize the best labour companies and employees in the UAE.

The Emirates Labour Market Award was approved by the UAE Cabinet and is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Chairman of the Award’s Supervisory Committee, said the awards “stimulate healthy competition” in the private sector. ICA/Expat Media
