Al Ain woman sues repairman for Dh51,000 for damaging washing machine

A woman in Al Ain has sued a repairman for damaging her washing machine, and demanded a total of Dh51,000 in compensation.

The case was heard at the Al Ain Court of First Instance. The woman said she handed over her washing machine to the man for repair since he worked for the agency where she bought the household appliance.

She claimed that he intentionally destroyed the washing machine in order to own it. The court ruled that the man will pay her Dh3,200 of which Dh2,200 covers the value of her washing machine and Dh1,000 as compensation.

The court also ordered the man to pay the woman’s legal fees and expenses related to the lawsuit. ICA/Expat Media
