DUBAI – Abu Dhabi will be issuing freelancer licences for 48 types of activities in order to allow companies to hire freelancers for temporary jobs, it was announced on Sunday (November 15).
The freelancer licences will be available to Emiratis, residents and non-residences and will be granted by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development.
Students, housewives and retired people may also apply for the license to work in any 48 types of business activities.

People who are currently employed can also apply for freelancer licence but will need approval from their employers.
Non-residents who get the freelancer licence can use it to apply for residence visa for themselves and their family. ICA/Expat Media
