9 love advices from Nadine Lustre in Dubai

DUBAI – Filipino actress Nadine Lustre arrived to a packed cinema hall at Dubai Mall on Wednesday to meet fans ahead of the Thursday premiere of her new movie, Never Not Love You in the UAE.

Lustre, who was on her third visit to Dubai, was alone as her co-star and boyfriend James Reid “has work to do”. But this didn’t stop the eloquent star from waxing lyrical about romance and relationships. She even had a love advice or two for young couples!

Here are 9 things about love that we learned from the star:

On serendipity

“If it’s meant to happen, it is meant to be.”

Is love everything?

“Love doesn’t make the world go round. Di lahat na magpapasaya sa ‘yo love lang (not everything that makes you happy is just love).”

On finding happiness

“Kung ano ang magpapasaya s’yo yun lang ang susundin mo dapat. If it’s not going to work out, wag mo nang pilitin (Follow what makes you happy. If it’s not going to work out, don’t force it).”

Advice to young couples

“Just keep everything simple because the more you make everything complicated the more you put stress on the relationship. It’s going to be so much stressful for the both of you.”

On dying relationships

“If the relationship is not working then you shouldn’t push it. Maybe you’re not meant to be together. Maybe there’s another opportunity for you. You can’t really force things if [they’re] not meant to happen.”

Long distance relationships

“I’ve never been in a long distance relationship before, but I think the only thing that matters is trust. For me, if you trust each other, trust that everything is going to work perfectly.”

Love in the time of millennials

“I notice that millennials are into the concept of love. Hugot lines (emotional lines). Anything about love, you see their eyes sparkling when love is talked about.”

What is the real meaning of love?

“It’s not just happy moments. It’s not just kilig (excitement). It’s not just romance. It’s the truth. When you’re coming of age, it’s not just the relationship you worry about. You have to worry about your family; you have to worry about your career, too, because you’re growing older. You can’t just survive on love.”

How has loved touched you?

“Love changed me. Last year was a really tough year for me. A lot has happened. James helped me the most. Love is understanding. Love is unconditional…  Love is different for everyone.”

So much we have got to say, but so little time. #Andreishotthe
