ABU DHABI – The Abu Dhabi Municipality said that a total of 728 abandoned buildings were demolished in the UAE capital last year.
This includes four unfinished towers in Mina Zayed Plaza, which were demolished within seconds using controlled explosives. The towers had been abandoned for more than 10 years.
According to the Abu Dhabi Municipality, the demolitions were necessary as part of efforts to improve Abu Dhabi’s image. ICA/Expat Media
