DUBAI – Two people were killed after a garbage collection truck crashed into a bus on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road on Tuesday (July 7).
Five people were also injured in the incident at around 4:30am on Tuesday, according to Dubai Police.
Police said the truck had crashed into the back of the bus, which had stopped on the highway after one of its tyres burst.
Police have repeatedly reminded motorists to ensure that their vehicle’s tyres are road-worthy before driving during the hot UAE summer.
In June, three men were critically injured after being hit by a passing vehicle as they tried to cross Al Khail Road when their bus broke down.
The bus that was transporting them to work was forced to stop in the middle of the busy highway after one of its tyres burst. ICA/Expat Media
