UAE weather: more rain forecast for 3 days

 

DUBAI – It appears that the wet spell in the UAE is not yet over, with the weather bureau forecasting three more days of rain next week.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), some light rainfall is forecast on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The NCM said that there will also be chances of fog as humidity levels increase during late night over internal and coastal areas.

Last week, three days of heavy rain left widespread flooding in the country. The severe weather also caused snow in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, as well as some hail in parts of Dubai.

Here’s the 5-day weather forecast:

Saturday, January 18

Fair to partly cloudy in general and cold during night. The relative humidity will increase during late night and Sunday morning. Light to moderate wind. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Sunday, January 19

Fair to partly cloudy in general and cold during night. The relative humidity will increase during late night and Monday morning. Light to moderate southeasterly to southwesterly winds, becoming northwesterly westwards by Monday morning, with a speed of 18 – 28, reaching 38 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

Monday, January 20

Partly cloudy in general, cloudy especially over the north, the sea and some eastern areas, with a probability of some light rainfall. The relative humidity will increase during late night and Tuesday morning over some internal and coastal areas with a chance of fog formation. Moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds and fresh over the sea westwards, with a speed of 20 – 30, reaching 45 km/hr. The sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate, becoming rough at times with the clouds in Oman Sea.

Tuesday, January 21

Partly cloudy in general and cloudy at times northward and eastwards with a probability of some light rainfall. The relative humidity will increase during late night and Wednesday morning internal central areas with a chance of fog or mist formation. Moderate northwesterly to northeasterly winds and fresh becoming light by noon, with a speed of 18 – 28 , reaching 38 km/hr. The sea will be rough to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and moderate becoming rough at times with the clouds in Oman Sea.

Wednesday, January 22

Partly cloudy to cloudy northward and eastwards with a chance of some rainfall. The relative humidity will increase during late night and Thursday morning. Moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds to fresh eastwards, with a speed of 20 – 30, reaching 45 km/hr. The sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and rough in Oman Sea. ICA/Expat Media
