More unstable weather forecast as rain, hail hit UAE

 

DUBAI – The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecast more unstable weather this week, after hail fell on parts of Umm Al Quwain and rain fell on Dubai on parts of the UAE on Tuesday (May 4).

Umm Al Quwain’s Suhaila village was hit by hail on Tuesday. Watch the footage here:

On Monday (May 3), the NCM posted a video of a resident showing hail stones that fell in Sharjah’s Kalba area. Some of the hail stones were as big as a dirham.

Dust storms were also seen in parts of Dubai on Monday, causing a 34-vehicle crash.

On Tuesday, more rain and hail fell in Dubai’s Al Aweer, Fujairah and parts of Ras Al Khaimah.

Tuesday, May 4

Dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy especially over the northern and eastern areas and extending to some internal areas, with some rainy convective clouds formation. Rather hot during daytime. Moderate southeasterly, becoming northwesterly winds, fresh to strong at times causing blowing dust and sand, reducing visibility, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 45 km/hr. Waves will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and moderate becoming rough at times in Oman Sea.

Wednesday, May 5

Dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy at times over some eastern and southern areas with a chance of some rainy convective clouds formation. With a slight decrease in temperatures. Moderate southeasterly becoming northwesterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 m/hr.

Thursday, May 6

Fair in general and partly cloudy at times northward. Humid by night and Friday morning over coastal areas with a probability of mist formation. Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times during daytime, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 35 km/hr.

Friday, May 7

Fair in general and partly cloudy especially over some eastern areas. Humid by night and Saturday morning over coastal areas with a probability of fog or mist formation. Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 35 km/hr.
