Floating Bridge in Dubai closed until further notice

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has extended the closure of Dubai’s Floating Bridge, announcing that it will be closed “until further notice”.

The Floating Bridge was originally announced to close for just five weeks starting April 17.

According to the RTA on Saturday (May 20), “The Floating Bridge closure has been extended in both directions until further notice, to carry out technical tests and ensure the efficiency of the maintenance work on the bridge.”

Motorists are advised to take alternative routes, including Al Garhoud Bridge, Al Maktoum Bridge, Infinity Bridge, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.

The Al Mamzar Street exit will also be opened to motorists coming from Al Ittihad Street to ease traffic from Sharjah, and access to Infinity Bridge visa Cairo Street and Al Khaleej Streets. ICA/Expat Media
