More rain forecast in parts of the UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology has forecast more rainfall over parts of the UAE this week after showers lashed parts of the country on Friday (November 17).

Residents of Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman woke up to flooded roads early on Friday morning as rain fell overnight in some areas. Schools switched to online classes while many companies allowed employees to work from home. Here’s the 5-day weather forecast:

Friday, November 17

Partly cloudy to cloudy at times, accompanied with some convective cloud formation, associated with rainfall over scattered areas. With a decrease in temperatures. Humid by night and Saturday morning over some coastal and internal areas. Light to moderate winds, and fresh to strong at times with clouds causing blowing dust and sand reducing the horizontal visibility. The sea will be moderate, becoming rough at times with clouds in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.

Saturday, November 18

Partly cloudy in general, with a chance of convective clouds over some islands, some costal areas extending to some internal areas, associated with rainfall. Humid by night and Sunday morning over some coastal and internal areas with a probability of mist formation especially westward. Light to moderate Northeasterly to Northwesterly winds, and freshening at times with clouds causing blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Sunday, November 19

Partly cloudy in general, with a chance of convective cloud formation over some eastern areas by afternoon. Humid by night and Monday morning with a probability of mist formation over some internal areas. Light to moderate Northeasterly to Northwesterly winds, and freshening at times, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 35 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Monday, November 20

Fair to partly cloudy in general, with a chance of convective cloud formation Eastward might be associated with rainfall by afternoon. Light to moderate Northeasterly to Southeasterly winds, and freshening at times, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 35 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Tuesday, November 21

Fair to partly cloudy in general and some clouds will appear might be convective cloud formation by afternoon over the mountain. Light to moderate Northeasterly to Southeasterly winds, and freshening at times, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 35 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
