UAE weather forecast: Hazy conditions expected

The National Centre of Meteorology forecasts hazy conditions this week, with light to moderate winds expected to blow dust and sand.

The weather bureau also forecast light rainfall on Wednesday afternoon (May 15) in parts of the country. Here’s the full weather forecast:

Wednesday, May 15

Fair to partly cloudy and dusty at times, with a probability of some convective cloud formation Eastward by afternoon may be accompanied by light rainfall. Light to moderate winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust and sand. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Thursday, May 16

Fair to partly cloudy and low clouds will appear over the Eastern coast by morning, may be convective Eastward by afternoon. Light to moderate Southeasterly to Northeasterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 10 – 20 reaching 35 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate at times in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Friday, May 17

Fair to partly cloudy at times, and some clouds will appear Eastward by afternoon. Light to moderate Southeasterly, becoming Northwesterly and Northeasterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate at times in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Saturday, May 18

Fair to partly cloudy at times with decrease in temperature over coast especially Westward. Light to moderate Northwesterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate, becoming rough gradually by afternoon in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.

Sunday, May 19

Fair to partly cloudy at times, with another decrease in temperature. Humid by night and Monday morning over some coastal and internal areas. Light to moderate Northwesterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr. The sea will be rough to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate at times in the Oman Sea.
