Holders of UAE visit visa valid for 30 days or 60 days can now extend their visa for another 30 days without exiting the country, the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced.
Visit visa holders must extend their visa before the expiration period or leave the country to avoid being fined Dh100 per day, according to the ICP.
Last December, the UAE changed its rules on visit visa renewal to require holders to exit the country before they can renew their visa. That rule has been changed effective June 3.
