Private and government schools in the UAE are extending online classes for two more days, education authorities announced on Wednesday (April 17).

This comes after the UAE experienced heavy rainfall that caused widespread flooding in many emirates, including Dubai.

The Emirates School Education Foundation announced that online classes for all government schools in the UAE will continue on Thursday (April 18) and Friday (April 19).

In Dubai, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) announced that remote learning is also extended for all private schools, nurseries, and universities. Online classes will continue on April 18 and 19, according to KHDA. In Sharjah, private schools are also extending remote learning on April 19.

The announcements are a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety and security of students and teaching staff. ICA/Expat Media
