Following the Eid holiday after Ramadan, UAE employees in the public and private sectors are still in for a few more public holidays this year.
Residents can expect a six-day break in June, including the Saturday-Sunday weekend, for Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha. There is also an expected three-day weekend break in July for Islamic New Year and in September for the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday (PBUH).
However, expected holidays are pending an announcement of a moon sighting by the UAE Moon Sighting Committee.
June 27 (Tuesday): Arafat Day*
June 28 to 30 (Wednesday to Friday): Eid Al Adha*
July 21 (Friday): Islamic New Year
September 29 (Friday): Prophet Mohammed’s birthday
December 2 and 3 (Saturday and Sunday): UAE National Day
