UAE police tighten security on desert driving, camping

DUBAI – Police in the UAE have intensified patrol of desert camping areas to catch reckless motorbike drivers and camping law violators.

In Ras Al Khaimah, police have seized vehicles that were found endangering the lives of campers and disturbing peace and order in campsites.

Brigadier General Ahmed Al Samm Al Naqbi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department in Ras Al Khaimah Police, said police have increased security to prevent reckless motorbike riding, as well as littering, and the cutting of trees for firewood.

Al Naqbi said that Ras Al Khaimah Police has also responded to campers’ complaints of motorbike riders who drive recklessly close to camping areas.

The official urged campers to respect the emirates’ natural sites, and called on desert motorbike riders to drive safely and responsibly. ICA/Expat Media
