UAE: $4,000 deposit needed to get 5-year visa

The UAE has expanded its visa services to make it easier for tourists, investors and talents to visit the country. One such visa type is the multiple entry tourist visa.

If you have at least $4,000 (Dh14,680) in your bank account, you qualify for the UAE’s multiple entry tourist visa. Here’s all you need to know:

What is the UAE’s multi-entry tourist visa?

It is a tourist visa that is valid for five years and allows you to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days per year.

Can the visa validity be extended?

Yes. The multi-entry tourist visa can be extended for a further 90 days, allowing you to stay in the country for up to 180 days per visit.

Do you need a sponsor to get this visa?

No. The multi-entry tourist visa is issued without a sponsor or guarantor.

Who can get the multi-entry tourist visa?

This type of tourist visa can be issued for all nationalities, provided they meet the criteria.

What are the requirements?

To obtain this visa, the applicant must have a bank balance of $4,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies during the last six months, a health insurance policy applicable in UAE, a return ticket and proof of accommodation in the UAE.

What documents are required?

Applicants must submit a colored photo, passport copy, medical insurance, bank statement, tour programme and their airline ticket.

Can minors apply for a UAE tourist visa?

Children under the age of 18 can get a free tourist visa if they are accompanied by adults on their visit between July 15 to September 15 each year. Females below the age of 18 are not eligible to apply for this type of visa unless they are travelling with their parents.

Where else can I apply for a tourist visa?

You can contact your airline to arrange for a tourist visa. Licensed travel agencies and hotels in the UAE can also arrange for a tourist visa.
