UAE lifts ban on catching, selling badah fish from April 5

DUBAI – Starting on Sunday (April 5) it will be legal again to catch the badah fish or longtail silver biddy fish in Abu Dhabi.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment said that the lifting of the ban will be enforced until the end of the year.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, Chairman of Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, issued a directive to lift the ban.

Authorities banned the fishing and selling of the badah fish to allow the species to reproduce and to ensure a sustainable supply in the market. ICA/Expat Media
