UAE motorists will pay more at the pump from Thursday (October 1), with petrol prices rising by up to 60 fils a litre and diesel increasing by 50 fils.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced the October 2026 rates on Wednesday (September 30), with all four fuel categories costing more than they did in September.

The October increases follow price rises in August and September, after fuel prices briefly declined in July. September prices had already increased by 20 fils a litre for all three petrol grades and 50 fils for diesel compared with August.

The October petrol rates also take all three petrol grades above Dh4 a litre for the first time in more than four years. The UAE’s monthly fuel pricing mechanism takes into account movements in global energy markets.

October 2026 fuel prices
• Super 98: Dh4.40 a litre, up from Dh3.80 in September
• Special 95: Dh4.28 a litre, up from Dh3.69
• E-Plus 91: Dh4.21 a litre, up from Dh3.61
• Diesel: Dh4.80 a litre, up from Dh4.30

How much will it cost to fill your tank?

The increase will be felt most directly by motorists who regularly fill up their vehicles.

For a 40-litre tank, a full tank will cost Dh176 with Super 98, Dh171.20 with Special 95 and Dh168.40 with E-Plus 91. A 40-litre diesel tank will cost Dh192.

For a 50-litre tank, motorists will pay Dh220 for Super 98, Dh214 for Special 95 and Dh210.50 for E-Plus 91. A 50-litre diesel tank will cost Dh240.

For a 60-litre tank, the cost rises to Dh264 for Super 98, Dh256.80 for Special 95 and Dh252.60 for E-Plus 91. A 60-litre diesel tank will cost Dh288.

For an 80-litre tank, motorists will pay Dh352 for Super 98, Dh342.40 for Special 95 and Dh336.80 for E-Plus 91. An 80-litre diesel tank will cost Dh384.

The new prices take effect on October 1 and will remain in place for the month, subject to the next monthly review by the Fuel Price Committee. ICA/Expat Media
