UAE expands salary support scheme for Emiratis in private, banking sectors

The UAE has increased salary support for Emiratis in the private and banking sectors.

The expansion helps the government incorporate locals into the commercial sector and gives UAE nationals allowances, bonuses, and other incentives.

Citizens earning a monthly salary of less than Dh30,000 will receive an allowance. The salary support will offer up to Dh7,000 monthly to those with bachelor’s degrees, Dh6,000 to diploma holders, and Dh5,000 to high school graduates. It also offers employee child support and temporary financial help in cases of job loss.

The Emirati Salary Support Scheme helps with private-sector recruitment and training.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated the decision covers all private and financial workers. It includes staff hired before the Nafis program began in September 2021.

Sheikh Mansour is the Board Chairman of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis).

Nafis is a federal program to boost Emiratis’ competitiveness and equip them for private sector jobs. More than 14,000 Emirati job-seekers have joined the private sector since its launch.

Data shows that over 21,000 Emiratis have benefited from the program’s financial assistance scheme. BKM/ Expat Media
