The Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council aims to provide between 22,000 and 24,000 jobs for UAE nationals in the private sector, which exceeds the anticipated 15,000 jobs.
Ghannam Butti Al Mazrouei, the council’s secretary-general, said that this will result in more citizens being employed in the private sector in 2023.
He said that the jobs available to citizens in the private sector over the coming year as a result of the decision to require the private sector to employ citizens with an Emiratisation target rate of 2% annually.
He also emphasized that the employer must post the job openings accessible through the Nafis platform and that an entire team is working on the platform to assist businesses that are looking for some of the skills citizens have to offer. Training programs will also be provided for those who need experience.
The platform has connections to several private sector businesses thanks to pension funds, the Wage Protection Fund, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization.
In a radio interview, Al Mazrouei stated that all private sector businesses had welcomed the decision to achieve the Emiratisation goals because “we are working to reduce the financial burden on those businesses in terms of qualification and training, as well as reduce the burden in terms of supporting salaries for citizens in the private sector.”
All government, semi-government, and private sector officials, he said, must band together to support Emiratization. He also said that plans were being made to address challenges facing the private sector, creating an environment that would draw people with the highest levels of expertise.
Periodic inspections are conducted, employers and the relevant authorities are kept informed constantly, and appropriate actions are taken if monitoring laws are broken.
Ministerial Resolution No. 1 RA. 663 of 2022 has been released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE), which concerns the private sector’s adherence to Emiratization rules.
The resolution outlines controls for adherence to the Emiratisation systems, job advertisements, and employer obligations when hiring a UAE national, enabling the national to carry out their duties. BKM/ Expat Media
