Providing staff accommodation is common in the UAE, but the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs has taken it a step further by creating a staff residential building worth Dh46.5 million.
The multi-million staff accommodation is located at Al Ghuwaifat border crossing in the Al Dhafra region. It is thought to be the most expensive staff accommodation built in UAE in recent years.
The three-storey building consists of 110 bedrooms for 220 employees. The staff accommodation complex sits on a sprawling 6,000 sqm of space and also contains three lounges, a prayer room, a dining hall with kitchen, gymnasium and outdoor playground. The complex also houses a one-storey building for female employees that contains 10 bedrooms, a reception room, a gymnasium, and a council room.
The project, designed to the highest international standards, was built in over 18 months under the management of Abu Dhabi General Services Company “Musanada”. ICA/Expat Media
