The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has launched 10 more fully electric taxis in addition to two 27-passenger electric buses, state news agency WAM reported.

This initiative is part of the emirate’s efforts to provide sustainable transport options and provide environmentally friendly modes of transportation to residents.

The SRTA started its green transition by introducing new, environmentally friendly taxis, which are continually being modernised and upgraded. The authority has more than 750 hybrid cars that use both fuel and electricity to reduce its environmental impact, WAM added.
