SB19’s lead rapper Josh Cullen surprised fans in Dubai when he performed at a recent concert with hip-hop artists Skusta Clee, Flow G and Shanti Dope.
Josh and the trio performed at the HipHop Pinoy Beat concert organized by SoundCloud Events at the Dubai World Trade Center on Sunday (March 19).
Josh’s participation at the concert was only announced minutes before the concert started at 8:30pm, but it appeared that SB19’s legion of fans had already gotten wind of his scheduled performance as they filed into the hall with their banners and cutout photos of Josh as concert doors opened.
As he took the stage, Josh introduced himself as a “rising hip-hop artist from the Philippines”. He thanked the A’TIN fandom for supporting the concert.
Josh performed some of his original songs, including his new single “Wild Tonight”. Between his songs, he reminded the audience to be kind to their loved ones who may be struggling in life. “Tell them to hold on,” he said in Filipino. Click here to watch the live coverage
Josh last performed in Dubai in October 2022 with his SB19 group for their Where You At concert at the Dubai World Trade Center, also organized by SoundCloud Events.
Josh recently released “Wild Tonight” with a music video, raising the cue that he is ready to take the center stage as a solo artist.
“The song is edgier and more provocative, and it’s a true reflection of my own personal style and creative vision,” the Filipino pop and hip-hop star told media in a previous interview.
Josh wrote and produced the single himself, which combines EDM, pop and hip-hop. He also led the choreography and music video concept. “While I love working with my bandmates and creating music as a group, this solo project has given me the chance to showcase my true self,” he said. ICA/Expat Media
