Unpaid wages are the most common complaint among migrant workers in Qatar less than 20 days before the start of the football World Cup, says the UN labor agency.
The International Labour Organization reported that the number of worker complaints doubled in a year following the launch of a new online platform.
“The main causes of complaints concerned non-payment of wages and end-of service benefits, and annual leave not being granted or paid,” said the report.
The report urged Qatar to accelerate the implementation of reforms launched in response to criticism of its rights record. BKM/ Expat Media
