Police rescue 8 Europeans stranded in Ras Al Khaimah mountains

Eight Europeans who were stranded in the rugged mountains of Ras Al Khaimah have been rescued, according to Ras Al Khaimah Police.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Ali Al Shehhi, Acting Head of Air Wing Section of Ras Al Khaimah Police, said they received a report that the group was stranded in the mountains north of the emirate.

A rescue team on a helicopter was dispatched to the site to locate and rescue the group. They were found at an elevation of 3,500 feet.

Al Shehhi said the stranded Europeans were in good health. He reminded the public to take all preventive measures when heading to mountainous areas and to avoid flooded valleys. ICA/Expat Media
