According to the Philippine Embassy and Philippine Consulate General in a joint announcement, the change in the date is “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

The meeting, which is open to all Filipinos, will now be held on November 30, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at Sheikh Maktoum Hall, Dubai World Trade Center. Gates open at 2pm and close at 4pm.

As Expat Media first confirmed, this will be the first time that Marcos will be in the UAE on an official visit. He will be in Dubai to participate in the global climate change conference COP28.

Philippine Consul General Renato Dueñas also confirmed that this is the first time in 15 years that a Philippine president will be coming to the UAE.

Dueñas said that during the Philippine president’s meeting with the public at the Dubai World Trade Centre, he will be joined by Philippine Cabinet members.

The meeting will be open to the public on a “first come, first serve” basis, said the Philippine Consul General in Dubai. “There’s going to be limited slots,” Dueñas said.

COP28 will run from November 30 to December 12 at Expo City Dubai. The scheduled visit will be Marcos’ first official visit to the UAE. ICA/Expat Media
