New UAE jobseeker visa: What the rules are

The jobseeker visa was among several new visa rules that came effect in the UAE on October 3, allowing talented and skilled professionals flexible options to visit the country.

The Job Exploration Entry Visa, also known as the jobseeker visa, is one of several new types of visas announced by the UAE Cabinet in April in one of the biggest overhauls of the country’s visa residency system.

Here’s what the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has to say about rules on the new jobseeker visa.

What is the UAE jobseeker visa?

This is a type of entry visa that allows skilled professionals to enter the UAE and explore job opportunities in the country.

Who can apply for UAE jobseeker visa?

Fresh college graduates can apply for this visa if they graduated from one of the best 500 universities in the world, with minimum educational levels of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Applicants must also be classified in the first or second or third skill level as per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. This includes managers, artists, technicians, professional assistants, secretaries, customer service agents and more. Check the list here

What is the validity of the UAE jobseeker visa?

The jobseekers visa is valid for 60 days and is a multi-entry visa, allowing visa holders to enter the UAE multiple times during this period.

Do I need a sponsor to apply for the UAE jobseeker visa?

No. The jobseeker visa does not require a sponsor or a host.

How much does the UAE jobseeker visa cost?

The 60-day visa costs Dh1,495 ($407). According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security’s website, the jobseeker visa also requires a refundable security deposit of Dh1,025 ($279).

How do I apply for the UAE jobseeker visa?
