Have you gotten your hands on the new Dh500 banknote in the UAE yet? The new banknote began circulation on Thursday (November 30).
The UAE Central Bank issued the new polymer banknote ahead of UAE National Day on December 2. The bill is in blue colour, similar to the old Dh500 banknote.
The front of the new Dh500 banknote features the Terra Sustainability pavilion at Expo City Dubai, which was among the most visited pavilions of the Expo 2020.
The reverse side of the new banknote features the Museum of the Future in Dubai, which has been named one of the most beautiful museums in the world. It also features the Burj Khalifa and the Emirates Towers.
The issuance of the new Dh500 banknote came after the UAE Central Bank released a new Dh1,000 polymer banknote in April. ICA/Expat Media
