Emirates ID, UAE passports to get new design

 

DUBAI – The UAE Cabinet has approved the designs for new UAE passports and Emirates ID.

The new design will be used on new generation passports and ID cards for Emiratis and give UAE citizens the most secure identity documents in the world.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved the design during a Cabinet meeting on Sunday (November 29).

The new passports and IDs will have more digital codes and security features, with encrypted codes that will make the UAE the first Arab country to implement the digital upgrade for its  passport. ICA/Expat Media
