Meet Pakistani driver who won Dh50 million in Mahzooz

DUBAI – After more than a year of being up for grabs, the Dh50 million jackpot in Mahzooz was finally won last Saturday, with a Pakistani man as the lucky winner!

Junaid Rana, a 36-year-old Pakistani driver, collected the cheque for his big win on Monday (October 25).

It was the first time that the Dh50 million grand prize has ever been won since Mahzooz (formerly Emirates Loto) launched in the UAE last year.

Rana, who works as a company driver on a salary of Dh6,000 per month, said the windfall is definitely going to change his life.

He matched all six numbers to take home the grand prize on Mahzooz’s 48th draw. The winning numbers were: 6, 11, 21, 32, 33, and 46.

“This is by far the biggest prize money to have been won in the UAE and the GCC,” said Farid Samji, chief executive officer of Ewings, which runs Mahzooz.

The second prize of Dh2 million will be shared among six people who matched five out of six winning numbers. They will take home Dh333,333 each. ICA/Expat Media
