Meet expat who flew alone on Dubai flight

DUBAI – Imagine having an entire airplane to yourself. That’s exactly what happened to an Indian expatriate who found himself the only passenger on a flight to Dubai.

UAE-based businessman S.P. Singh Oberoi flew from Punjab to Dubai on an Air India flight on Wednesday (June 23).

Oberoi said had so much time and space on the flight that he ended up measuring the length of the plane with his steps!

He told Khaleej Times that he presented a negative Covid-19 test result prior to the flight, and also underwent PCR testing when he arrived in Dubai.

The businessman and UAE golden visa holder was able to return to the UAE despite an entry ban on passenger from India because golden visa holders are exempted from the ban.

Emiratis, members of diplomatic missions and those given exemption by UAE authorities are also exempted from the entry ban. ICA/Expat Media
