Man trapped in burning Fujairah villa rescued

DUBAI – A man trapped in a burning villa in Fujairah has been rescued from the inferno, according to the Fujairah Civil Defence on Saturday (May 23).

Officials said the fire broke out in the Badiya area at around 12:20pm.

Rescuers found the man inside the villa while firefighters battled to control the blaze.

“He was fine and managed to escape the blaze unharmed,” authorities said.

The fire had damaged the bedroom and hallway.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, authorities urged residents to ensure that fire alarms and detectors are installed in their homes and that electronic devices are in good condition.

“Using poor-quality electric devices, such as air-conditioners, fans, fridges, heaters, poses risks to a household’s safety as these products can easily start a fire,” authorities warned. ICA/Expat Media
