DUBAI – A 44-year-old Indian man will be spending life in jail for stabbing his wife to death at a parking lot in Dubai.
Ugesh C.S. committed the crime in broad daylight at the parking lot of his wife’s office in Al Qouz. He had accused the victim, Vidhya Chandran, of having an affair with another man.
He had stormed into her office to confront her, before they continued to argue outside where he stabbed her thrice and left her “lying lifeless between cars in the parking lot”, police said.
The office manager found Chandran, 40, in a pool of blood at the company parking lot during the September 9, 2019 incident.
A police officer testified that the victim sustained deep stab wounds in her abdomen and left thigh and that the knife was found near her body.
Her husband was arrested on the same day in Jebel Ali. During police interrogation, he admitted to stabbing his wife dead.
Chandran was reportedly due to fly to India that night with her two daughters to celebrate Onam.
Police investigation revealed that her husband flew to the UAE on visit visa a month before the incident. He stayed in Abu Dhabi while she shared an apartment with a female colleague. ICA/Expat Media
