The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) urges employers, UAE nationals, and residents to only work with domestic worker recruitment firms that have received ministry approval when looking to hire staff and to stay away from social media sites that support illegal employment.

According to UAE law, anyone hiring a foreign domestic worker (FDW) to work in the country through MOHRE must apply for a work permit.
The Federal Decree-Law governs domestic worker hiring and employment. The following are forbidden:
— Employment of anyone under the age of 18
— Discrimination based on race, color, gender, religion, and nationality
— Sexual harassment, whether verbal or physical
— Forced labor or trafficking
— Exposure to physical harm
— Assignment of tasks that are not covered under the contract
There are 19 occupations that domestic workers can pursue, including:
— Housemaid/servant
— Sailor
— Guard
— Shepherd
— Jockey
— Tamer
— Falcon care-taker
— Worker
— Housekeeper
— Cook
— Nanny/babysitter
— Farm worker/grower
— Gardener
— Personal trainer/coach
— Private tutor
— Home nurse
— Personal assistant
— Private agricultural engineer
— Personal/family driver
