UAE visit visa or entry visa holders can now use the ICP website or app to apply for an extension of their visa validity for 60 more days, according to Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
The ICP explained that the visa extension can only be done if the visitor has not yet entered the UAE using their existing visit visa or entry visa.
“They can do this only before entering the country,” according to the ICP. Visit visa or entry visa holders can extend the validity of their visa only once. The maximum extension is 60 days.
The ICP launched the new service through its website icp.gov.ae or app UAEICP that can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Apps.
Applicants must have a passport valid for not less than three months, and should pay the fee of Dh200. They can log on to the website or app using the UAE PASS or their username.
Applicants must then fill in personal data, attach the required documents and pay the fees before a confirmation of the application to extend the visa validity will be sent to their registered email.
Applicants can also avail of the service by going to the ICP customer service centers or authorized typing centers.
Requests with incomplete data or documents will be returned, and declined electronically if the requirements are not met within 30 days.
Applications will also be declined if returned three times due to incomplete data or documents. Fees and financial guarantees are refundable if the application is declined.
“The fees are refunded through the credit card within a period not exceeding six months from the date of submitting the application, or refunded through the procedures applicable to recover the fees by cheque or bank transfer to banks located within the country only and for a period not exceeding 5 years,” according to the ICP, which added that rules and regulations are subject to change without notice.
