KUWAIT – A Filipina who attempted suicide in Kuwait has claimed that her Arab employer physically abused her for a couple of years.
The Filipina, 26, drank a bathroom cleaning liquid on May 16. She fell into a coma for nine days. She has regained consciousness and is now recuperating at a hospital in Kuwait.
Authorities have arrested her female employer to question her about the abuse claims.
According to the Filipina, her employer held her against her will for two years and also frequently abused her physically.
She told authorities that she also attempted to escape from her employer, who works at a private medical centre in Kuwait. SB/Expat Media
