A Filipina in Al Ain who flew home for the first time in seven years has received a new iPhone 15 after winning the recent raffle draw by Philippine Airlines.

Mary Grace Dimaano travelled to the Philippines after booking her Philippine Airlines flight via during the promo period that ended on April 30, qualifying her for the draw that she eventually won.

The Filipina said winning the smartphone was an unexpected bonus and a “big blessing”. She finally went on a much-needed vacation earlier this year after working in Al Ain for seven years. Dimaano said she first worked as a household worker in Al Ain before finding a job as a housekeeping attendant for a hotel. She currently works as a cleaner for a salon.

“I worked for seven years straight before I was able to take a vacation. On the first week after I arrived in the UAE, my youngest child go diagnosed with leukemia and I had to work hard to pay for the chemotherapy for three years and six months. After that, my eldest daughter had to go to college and I had to support her education,” Dimaano shared in Filipino.

The Filipina said her hard work paid off because her youngest child has survived leukemia, and her eldest child has graduated in college with a degree in Computer Engineering.

“It was my first time to take a vacation to the Philippines after working In the UAE and winning the iPhone 15 is a big blessing from God through Philippine Airlines and,” Dimaano said. ICA/Expat Media
