Rain in UAE this week plus 5-day forecast

 

DUBAI – Some rainfall is forecast to break the summer heat in the UAE this week, with the weather bureau saying it is likely to rain in parts of the country on Monday (May 3) and Wednesday.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology, some haze is also expected, although the UAE weather will remain generally fair to partly cloudy and hot during daytime.

Here’s the 5-day weather forecast

Monday, May 3

Fair to partly cloudy in general and cloudy at times over some areas with a probability of convective cloud formation eastward by afternoon, maybe associated with rainfall. Light to moderate winds, freshening at times, blowing dust. Waves will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in Oman Sea.

Tuesday, May 4

Dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy especially over the northern and eastern areas and extending to some internal areas, with some rainy convective clouds formation. Rather hot during daytime. Moderate southeasterly, becoming northwesterly winds, fresh to strong at times causing blowing dust and sand, reducing visibility, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 45 km/hr. Waves will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and moderate becoming rough at times in Oman Sea.

Wednesday, May 5

Dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy at times over some eastern and southern areas with a chance of some rainy convective clouds formation. With a slight decrease in temperatures. Moderate southeasterly becoming northwesterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 m/hr.

Thursday, May 6

Fair in general and partly cloudy at times northward. Humid by night and Friday morning over coastal areas with a probability of mist formation. Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times during daytime, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 35 km/hr.

Friday, May 7

Fair in general and partly cloudy especially over some eastern areas. Humid by night and Saturday morning over coastal areas with a probability of fog or mist formation. Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 35 km/hr.
