Adding to the enthusiasm of anime lovers at the Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC), Emirati countertenor Alira will perform an anime mini-concert at the convention in Abu Dhabi.
Alira, who carved a niche in UAE with his unique musical talent, will be singing popular anime and cartoon hits on March 5, from 5:30 pm at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
He will perform anime favorites in multiple languages, including English, Japanese, and Arabic, in a 45-minute production. He is also expected to sing his original song, Take Flight, and a surprise production from One Piece.
Alira is the first Emirati countertenor who gained popularity for his unique ability to reach high notes and sing in up to six vocal octaves.
He will join MEFCC celebrity guests, including “Lord of the Rings” star Andy Serkis, the menacing anti-hero in “House of the Dragon” Matt Smith; voice artists like Zach Aguilar, who voiced “Tanjiro Kamado” of Demon Slayer; Paige O’Hara, who voiced “Belle” of Beauty and the Beast; Christopher Sabat who voiced “Vegeta” of Dragon Ball, Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels, and Disney artist Mike and Patty Peraza.
This is Alira’s second time performing at MEFCC due to popular demand. “I’m so excited to be returning to Comicon Abu Dhabi once again this year and rekindling our childhood memories by singing some of the greatest anime hits and our favorite cartoon songs growing up. Hope to see you all there and have the best time together,” he said.
Alira will be joined by dance crews G Expat and G Swag. Last year, the Emirati hitmaker drew a huge crowd at his mini-concert during MEFCC 2022, which also took place in Abu Dhabi. RZSP/Expat Media
